How good is the Betfair app?
Overview of the betting offer
At Betfair, most of the betting markets and betting options are available to you in the mobile app, which you will also find on the desktop PC. However, since you are on the move in a smaller resolution, Betfair has decided to simplify the menus and not display all sports/betting markets/betting options on one screen. In my opinion, this has made using the betting offer even more pleasant than on the PC. In addition to the same bets, you also have the same access to all Betfair live streams, so you won't miss anything in the app.
How easy is it to place bets?
One of the most important questions, however, is how well the app is suited for placing sports bets on the tablet or smartphone. Of course, this detail should not be missing from our test report. Compared to other apps, Betfair is in a very good position. From the start page to placing a bet on a match of the 1st Bundesliga, you only need 6 steps. First, select soccer (1) and then the betting market of the 1st Bundesliga (2). Now simply click on the odds of the prediction (3) and the number of sports bets selected in the betting slip will be displayed at the bottom. Alternatively, you can click on additional odds and transfer them to the betting slip. If you now click on the betting slip (4), all single, combination and system bets will be listed. Enter the stake for the desired bet (5) and then click on "Place bet" (6) to place the bet slip.
All placed betting slips can be viewed at the top next to the menu items Sports and Live under "My bets" or in the service area under "History". There you can find not only the settled and pending bets, but also the history of deposits and withdrawals made. Under "Transfer payments" you can also transfer part of your balance to another Betfair product such as poker or casino. However, please note the general terms and conditions that also apply to withdrawals.
General information about the clarity and navigation
Due to the not so cluttered menus, the app is much clearer. Personally, I like navigating in the app better than on the more detailed desktop. Games and betting options are still easy and quick to find, as you can see for example in the description of the betting slip submission. Less popular betting markets are hidden in most menus and can be viewed with a click. You can find an overview of all available betting markets in the Betfair review. The betting account and the service area are easily accessible and very clearly arranged. In addition, many different languages are available, including Kenya, of course. Only the live chat support is not available here, but you can request a callback in the menu.
The app is actually very fast and any delays during page load or data loading are only due to the transmission speed of your mobile provider or WiFi network. With a fast Internet connection, the pages load in less than a second, which makes navigation and use very pleasant. If you use the web application instead of the download app, only a few additional data have to be transferred for the browser, which does not affect the loading times noticeably.
When it comes to live betting, the selection of sports only shows those for which there are matches at the moment. Thus, the selection looks a bit thin at first glance (sometimes less than 10 in the morning), but in principle, all live bets will be found. In the calendar you can see all upcoming matches for the next few days and the available live streams are also clearly displayed.
